Torquing of Marques
In 2005 Perth automotive historian and author A John Parker released "Torquing of Marques" an A to Z listing of the 550 brand names of cars seen on Perth roads since 1896 with an 'auto' biographical comment on each marque.
The 151 pages include 400 photos of Perth passenger cars accompanied by notes taken from the 1920s RAC "Year Books & Road Guides" to give a snapshot of every marque which has plied Perth roads in those 108 years.
Two years have gone into the research and writing of this book during which contact was made with some 350 motor trade people through interviews. Twenty of Perth's best known automotive fans, historians, collectors and enthusiasts checked it for accuracy and proofread the text (although any mistakes found are the author's!)
