Book is bound in tan cloth with black lettering on the spine and a black & gilt embossed image of General Grant on the front. It is clean, straight & tight without marks or tears. Light rubbing of edge with wear at one corner is present. Between pages 288 & 289 a previous owner has pressed a small rosebud and two fern leaves. They are well dried and preserved, really pretty in fact. They will remain with the book as they aren't harming the pages in any way.
