A Lamb to Slaughter. Montyn, Jan and Kooiman, Dirk Ayelt:
126180 Viking Penguin USA 1985 Hard cover dust wrapper 251pp b&w photos. Dw sunned on spine and has been contacted down. Bit of wear on board edges. Some foxing. Acid tape stains on eps. Else good. Jan Montyn saw the German occupation as a chance to escape from his strict Dutch Calvinist upbringing. He was 19 when he enterned WWII on a German minesweeper in the Baltic. He also served on the Eastern Front, and witnessed the bombing of Dresden. He fled the advancing Russian Army across Germany, escaped from an Allied POW camp and joined the French Foreign Legion. A few years later he was at war again in Korea. His experiences scarred his mind more than his body and this memoir became for him his catharsis. $19.00AUD Click here to order or message the dealer
