Complete, bound run of "The Illustrated London News" for July - Dec 1858. <P> Full-page engravings include: A full-page colour print, "The Queen's Visit to Warwickshire - Aston Hall"; "The Cherbourg Fetes - Arrival of Her Majesty..." "A Hindoo Fair"; and "Interior of a Sikh Temple at Umbitzer - Reading of the Grunt'h". <P> News articles include: "Laying the Atlantic Telegraph: the paying-out machine"; "The Queen's Visit to Birmingham"; "Great Fire in the London Docks"; an illustrated tour of "House Occupied by Sir Isaac Newton..."; A review of Charles Dicken's public readings of his "...admirable little books..."; "The Mutiny in India"; a report on "Donati's Comet"; a report on "Middle-Class Education"; <P> Covers (original half leather over marbled boards with gilt titles to a 6-banded 6-compartment spine) are worn.with the front and rear boards being detached but present and the Backstrip (outer part of the spine on which the title and author would be printed) in a good state with most of the backstrip present. Front and rear boards and spine are rubbed, scuffed and have bumped corners. All edges are marbled. There is also some slight foxing and some soil to some pages. FEP and page 1 have lengthy closed tear running horizontally from spine edge almost to the fore-edge.
