A memorial in verse to those who fought in the First World War. Divided into sections, it pays tribute to many men from different parts of the Armed Services. The Physic Garden covers the Royal Army Medical Corps and civilian doctors; The Shrubbery pays tribute to men from Canada, New Zealand & Australia; the Irish Armies and civilians are found in The Bog Garden, the Lowland Regiments in The Heather Moor and the Highland Regiments in The Scottish Hills. There is an Aquatic Garden for the Navy, a Japanese Garden and an Allah Garden as well as 11 other sections. An index at the end lists the names of the men and the plant names by which they are referred to in the poems.
