The correspondence ranges in dates from 13 February 1864 to 4 September 1868; it includes good contributions by Francis Cadell (a half-page interim report on his expedition) and John Robertson, business partner of the explorer J.G. Macdonald (a half-page detailing their exploits in the Gulf of Carpentaria and outlining their proposal for the Northern Territory survey).
