Ins innerste Afrika

FRIEDRICH HERZOG ZU MECKLENBURG, A.,

49168 1909 Bericht ber den Verlauf der deutschen wissenschaftlichen ZentralAfrikaExpedition 19071908; xii, 476 p., num. photographs, num. (a few col.) pls, 1 folded map, frontispiece, hcloth (covers somewhat rubbed). Interesting and well illustrated account of this important expedition which travelled from the Atlantic coast through Kongo, passed Lake Victoria to Mombasa in the Indian Ocean. A wealth of material and scientific (mainly zoological and ethnographical) information was gathered. Hunting seemed quite important in most of the old expeditions who went to Afrika. This expedition, although not a real hunting expedition, was no exception, and many hunting trophies (lions, elephants, antilopes, okapi etc.) are depicted throughout the book. €125.00EUR
