The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children will be holding their Annual Book, Toy and Music Fair on: Saturday 18th July 2009 & Sunday 19th July 2009 8am to 3pm RIDBC Thomas Pattison School Hall Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children 361-365 North Rocks Road North Rocks (opposite Westfield) Plenty of onsite parking available. A yearly fundraiser for the RHSV, the Book Sale is being held on Sunday 21 June from 10am - 4pm in A'Beckett St, Melbourne and will feature a treasure trove of pre-loved publications from the libraries of the well-read.
The booksale will be held at the Royal Historical Society of Victoria in the former Australian Army Medical Corps Drill Hall - an impressive Art Deco space, listed on the Victorian Heritage Register for its state-wide architectural and historical significance.
The 19th Annual Strathalbyn Collectors, Hobbies and Antiques Fair

The 19th Annual Strathalbyn Collectors, Hobbies and Antiques Fair is on in August this year. During the fair Strathalbyn has the largest collection and selection of antiques anywhere in Australia. There are five halls to visit, which are filled with quality antiques and collectables from local and interstate dealers.
Antique appraisals both days and an auction on Saturday. There is catering and entertainment as well as a complimentary shuttle bus to each venue.
There are many bargains to be found with a huge Open Air Treasure Market on the Sunday at the oval.
A great event not to be missed. 15th and 16th August 2009. Admission $10 per person gives access to all venues. Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 4pm. Phone: 08 8388 6033.

3. August 6-10, 2008*, Colorado Convention Center, the *World Science Fiction Convention*. This five day celebration of science fiction was in Japan last year, and it's been held all over this country and around the world since 1939, except for during World War II. Denver had the honor in 1941, 1981 and now again this year. This event attracts thousands of readers, hundreds of authors and lots of panels, readings, parties, and autograph sessions. An art show and dealer's exhibit room are also part of the event. Announcement of the Hugo Awards are made at the banquet. Check www.denvention3.org for more details and registration costs.
